Fort Mason San Francisco

Fort Mason is one of the most beautiful parks in San Francisco.

Situated on the very north end of San Francisco, at the end of Franklin Street, Fort Mason displays beautiful vantage points of Marin County, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman’s Wharf.

Fort Mason is divided into two parts, Upper Fort Mason and Lower Fort Mason. Upper Fort Mason is mostly residential and includes the National Park Services Offices as well as the beautiful historic hostel in Fort Mason.

Lower Fort Mason encompasses a slew of old piers used by the US Army, now converted into commercial spaces for things like art galleries, beer festivals, and nonprofits. Lower Fort Mason is also home to the famous Greens Restaurant, one of the first all-vegetarian restaurants in San Francisco (and the country, for that matter).
