Subway from LaGuardia Airport to Brooklyn

When you’re visiting New York, going by subway from LaGuardia Airport to Brooklyn is a process that requires two steps: a bus and the subway.

The first step is to follow signs in LaGuardia Airport to ground transportion in the Central Terminals, Marine Air Terminal, or Delta Terminal. Once there, you will need to look for signs for New York City buses.

Once you have found ground transportation in the closest terminal to where your flight landed, board bus Q33 from the Central Terminals or bus Q47 from the Marine Air Terminal in the direction of Queens, or board bus M60 from the Delta Terminal in the direction of Manhattan. The cost of a bus ticket is $2.50.

All three buses connect to New York City subway lines F, G, and R in Queens. These trains take passengers to Brooklyn. A subway ticket costs $2.50.

The G train is the most direct one to take, as the others go through Manhattan before reaching Brooklyn. You can change from the G train to other lines once you reach Brooklyn if you need to.

The travel time on the bus and subway from LaGuardia Airport to Brooklyn is around 1 hour and 20 minutes, depending on how long you have to wait for your bus and subway train to arrive. Both the bus and the subway run 24 hours a day, seven days a week.


Subway from JFK Airport to Brooklyn

Taking the subway from JFK Airport to Brooklyn, New York is a two-step process.

First, follow signs in JFK Airport to the AirTrain. Once you get to the train platform, take a train heading to Howard Beach station. Do not get on a train to Jamaica station.

Once you get off the train at Howard Beach station, you can purchase a Pay Per Ride MetroCard that covers the cost of the AirTrain ($5) as well as your continued transport to Brooklyn. The cost of the card is $7.25.

Using the card, go through the turnstiles and take a left. Go down the stairs to the platform and wait for the A Train. The train will take you from the Howard Beach JFK Airport stop all the way to Brooklyn.

If you want to get off at the last New York subway station in Brooklyn, alight at the High Street stop. Otherwise get off before the High Street stop.

The total journey time on the subway from JFK Airport to Brooklyn is around an hour, but can take longer depending on how long you have to wait for the trains to arrive.
